Where It All Began

Hi, I’m Shelley Worth, the creative crochet designer and often reluctant content creator behind Brambles & Hart. Like many I came into crochet when I was pregnant with my first son back in 2017. I was a primary school teacher off on the summer holidays and had a lot of time on my hands. There was a lovely lady local to me running a crochet class and I decided to give it a try. I would never have described myself as artsy or crafty before but there was something about crochet that captured my heart so completely and inspired my creativity.

I crocheted so many beautiful things for my son and loved seeing the progress I was making. I never intended for crochet to become a business but thanks to lockdown and a big move from England to Scotland, I had to pivot career wise and Brambles & Hart was born!

My Mission

At Brambles & Hart, I design beginner-friendly, nature-inspired crochet patterns that empower women, especially mums, to rediscover themselves through creativity. It is all too easy to find yourself getting a little lost in the generalities of daily life and I want to support you in carving out a few moments of time that is just for you. A chance to unwind and work on a project that will bring you joy, not only whilst you make it but for a long time afterwards.

There is nothing quite like seeing your little one all snug in a bonnet you made or slipping on a cosy cardigan that you crafted for yourself. A handmade blanket is the perfect finishing touch to any room and there is no space that cannot

I am a huge advocate for women’s mental health and through Brambles & Hart I aim to provide gentle encouragement to take time for yourself and demonstrate the incredible benefits of crochet for your mental well-being. I myself use crochet to help me with managing my anxiety and I truly could not be without it.
